Very Valuable
I really appreciated hearing the history, and definitive reasoning behind pixel fonts, and grids.
It's not very often I hear a good answer to my 'Why?' questions. It's enlightening to discover that pixel fonts originated from the need for a functional font, as opposed to the 'hey, this looks cool.' trend.

Quite rare... indeed
I've been a graphics designer for three years and I have seen a lot of articles, documentation and notes about the history of pixels and other sort of stuffs that regards in multimedia category... but this one is quite rare to find and very useful indeed!
I have learned some new things about this piece and I feel bad that I haven't read this piece before I graduated.
I'm amazed of how this article was written and I agree with "almost" all of your words here. I'm sure that there are some "little" things that are missing in this article but I'm sure that those points are not really important.
This is a little long, concise and useful article.
